VEGEMITE!!!
As we left Perth i was happy to know that i had 2 big jars of our Aussie spreads with me, vegemite and promite. Sure to last us at least 6 months. Well the security people in perth thought differently!! As we went through the xray machine they searched my handbag and pulled out both jars. They said it was gel which was prohibeted and threw them both out!!! I was so angry that i fumed about it throughout the whole trip. Now Emily asks each morning wheres the vegemite. Oh well jam it is.....

I've lived and studied in Berlin, and when I read your post about vegemite, I thought there's one place where you might get it, and it's the famous KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) on Ku(rfürsten)-Damm, at U-Bahn Station Wittenbergplatz. Their food section on the top floor is worth a visit anyway but chances are they sell vegemite. It was the only place where I found my favorite Norwegian cheese in all of Berlin, so you might get lucky too.
